Understanding Intro and Outro Mechanics in Wuthering Waves
Intro and Outro Basics
What You Need to Know
Understanding the intro and outro mechanics in Wuthering Waves can be tricky. Here are the core questions and answers to help you grasp the basics.
Key Questions and Answers
Does Outro require concerto energy?
- Yes, it does.
Is Concerto energy the circle that fills up on the left of forte?
- Yes, that's correct.
Does each character have a separate concerto energy bar?
- Yes, every character has their own concerto energy bar.
Building Concerto Energy
Fastest Ways to Build
Certain actions can help build concerto energy quickly:

Special Notes
- No cooldowns for outros.
- Swapping units mid-air may save a full bar of energy.
Handling Swaps and Cooldowns
Switching Units
Swapping units doesnât clear their concerto energy. The new unit will start with how much they had when previously swapped out.
Example Scenario
If you fill up Verina's bar, then switch to Mortefi and start filling his bar, you'll lose a lot of Verina's buff uptime. Instead, fill Mortefi's bar to 70%, switch to Verina, fill her bar completely, then switch back to Mortefi. This way, you can maximize the damage of your main DPS.
Intro/Outro Mechanics in Coop
Using Skills in Coop
- Intro skills can be used in coop by clicking on the personâs icon.
- Both players need their bars filled to use intro and outro skills together.
Apparently, you can use intro skills in coop by clicking on the person's icon. I'm guessing it can trigger with 1, 2, 3 as well, but I donât play coop, so I canât confirm.
Special Mechanics and Future Updates
Unique Scenarios
- Characters may have special animations when switching, depending on their skill set.
- Some weapons have passive bonuses that give flat concerto energy when a character activates their skill.
Looking Ahead
Be prepared for changes with full releases and updates from the developers, Kuro. New characters and weapons might introduce different mechanics for intros and outros.
By keeping these tips in mind, you'll be better equipped to handle the complexities of Wuthering Waves' intro and outro mechanics. Happy gaming!
